How to help you child learn a musical instrument.
Let's face it, music is foreign to me, i.e. those sheets full of squiggly lines, I always wondered how people could call that music. But I want to make sure my two girls lean basic piano and maybe another instrument.
So here are a few tips given by one of their instructors.
1. Set up regular routine.
2. Provide a distraction free env. i.e. no TV, pets, siblings.
3. Sit with your child during practice.
4. Encourage your child to perform for guests, friends, and relatives.
5. Quality not quantity.
6. Sometime reward for good routine and practices.

I really like what you posted, specially the tips. Its truly a good information.
When I was young I also attend piano lessons together with my cousin. We also use music instructional dvd for our daily lesson.
