I love Austin, TX

During the dot com burst I decided to move out of Austin, Big Mistake! I thought, for a first generation immigrant like me any city in USA is same, (same malls, same people, pretty much same food) not true! .

I got a job with Lockheed Martin and moved to Oklahoma city, I liked the job but the city was nothing like Austin, My wife and kids had a hard time making friends with any one. The immigrant population is very small and could not get a set of like minded people. Lived there for a year and half and then called it quits. We considered going to another state like Colorado, but decided to go back to familiar territory of Austin.

Since we moved back here it has been nothing but joy. Kids have lots of friends, wife never complains. Every weekend we meet a new family, go out for dinner. Life is great. Lessons learned. So my suggestions for those of you thinking of moving with jobs, I say think twice. All cities in US are not alike.
